Admire the beauty of Vancouver Island with a combination of both beach and forest scenery at a local park just a 20-minute drive from bustling Downtown Victoria. Begin the adventure by walking through a pine forest down to a rocky, West Coast beach. If you are lucky, you might be able to spot some of the plethora of wildlife in the area like bald eagles, harbour seals and deer. Strike a pose in front of the famous pine tree that hangs out over the ocean and get your quintessential PNW shot. For 60-minute sessions or more, take a short drive up Mt. Doug at the end for epic, 360 degree views of the Southern Vancouver Island, Downtown Victoria and out to the Gulf Islands & beyond. If you are planning to include the drive up the mountain, the best time of day for a photo session is in the evening for sunset since the gate opens at noon. Note: There are a short amount of stairs down to the beach and stairs up to the summit. Sturdy footwear is recommended!
