Travel Story

This was our first time in Scottsdale and it happened to be the perfect time to visit since we got to escape the cold winter weather back home. Scottsdale was the perfect mix of nature and city arts and culture. Experiencing the Sonoran Desert in the spring time was beautiful. We spent the warm sunny days hiking the local desert mountain area hiking trails, poolside at the Royal Palms, and discovering OId Town area shops, art galleries, and restaurants. In the evening we had some of the best handcrafted cocktails at local treasures such as The Mission restaurant and the Arizona Biltmore bar. Our trip highlights include a visit to the Grande Canyon and Sedona as well as a taking in a Major League spring training baseball game at one of the local venues. We will definitely have to return in the future to see more.

Travel Tips

Tour architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West which was his winter home and school. Visit the Arizona Biltmore hotel bar for handcrafted cocktails. Enjoy an amazing Mexican meal and margaritas at The Mission restaurant in Old Town. Tour Old Town, the Arts District, and the Quarters for shopping, entertainment, art galleries, restaurants and bars. Hike one of the many local Sonoran desert trails. We loved Pinnacle Peak - the views of the city and surrounding mountains were magic and there were so many spring flowers blooming along the trail. Take in a baseball game during the Major League's spring training season.
