We've never been to Europe together and always been such lovers of Greek food that we knew we wanted to explore Athens and Santorini as part of our honeymoon trip. We absolutely enjoy Greek cuisine as well as the history and the island feel of Greece. Our favorite memory was exploring Santorini with our photographer and being adventurous taking certain pictures overlooking the water while walking through challenging terrain and narrow spaces. Santorini is absolutely amazing and relaxing. In addition to the blue domes and the white washed walls, we enjoyed the gorgeous pink Bougainvilleas. We love Greece so much even our wedding decor was grecian and cannot wait to go back.
Travel Tips
Highly recommend a donkey trail if possible during the peak season. Also recommend stopping at Fira and trying the delicious desserts from the local bakery and authentic lamb gyros located at the main Fira square. Top must-see activities are doing the hike from Santorini to Fira which has some gorgeous views of the white washed walls against the blue hues and doing the long walk along Santorini with the cute shops especially the handmade jewelers.
