Travel Story
Every year, my son and I plan a special trip in celebration of two important milestones: his birthday and Mother's Day. 2021 was especially important to take a break from the challenging times we all faced during the pandemic. We decided on a road trip down the Pacific coast with San Francisco as the launch point. We spent 5 fun-filled days in San Francisco. There are so many favorite memories. By far the most memorable one was walking across the Golden Gate Bridge!
Travel Tips
We stayed just outside the city in Monterey Heights. For a great breakfast and coffee, check out Java on Ocean Coffee House. This is a very cool place to grab a bite to eat before hitting the streets. If you are near Fisherman's Wharf, Cafe de Casa is a must visit! This Brazilian cafe serves the BEST food and iced coffee. For activities, you can't visit San Francisco without riding the cable cars! We rode the Powell and Market line to Fisherman's Wharf. My son loved hanging off the side of the car as we crested the hills in Union Square.
