Travel Story

My husband planned a trip from Florida to NYC to celebrate my birthday. This was a very special trip because we also brought our oldest son, Logan, with us. It was Logan’s first time visiting New York City. Some of the best memories my husband and I share have been ones that we made when visiting New York City. In 2009, my husband proposed to me atop the Empire State Building and in 2011 we exchanged vows and were pronounced husband and wife at the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day. It was such an amazing experience to bring our son to the top of the Empire State Building and show him the very place where his Mom & Dad were married. On this trip, I also celebrated my 36th birthday on the 4th of July. It has always been a dream of mine to see the spectacular Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks in person. The fireworks were truly incredible! Our family made so many wonderful memories in the Big Apple and I am confident my son will surely cherish and remember this trip for the rest of his life as I know I will!

Travel Tips

Our favorite restaurant in New York City is Gallagher’s Steakhouse. Also, when traveling to New York, one must try pizza in the city and also New York Cheesecake. Our recommendations are Ray’s Pizza near Time Square and Junior’s cheesecake. For amazing views of New York City, you must visit the Empire State Building observatory and also Top of The Rock. We would also suggest a lunch cruise on the Hornblower cruise line to see up-close views of the Statue of Liberty. The cruise was very kid friendly and we received excellent service from start to finish on the cruise. My son also enjoyed Madame Tussaud’s. They had a fun and interactive Ghostbuster’s experience which was exciting and he also liked the Marvel Super Heroes 4D film adventure. New York is filled with amazing museums but one of our favorites is the American Museum of Natural History. My son loved the dinosaur exhibits and we also enjoyed the Dark Universe Space Show. There is always so much to do in New York. It truly is the city that never sleeps!
