Route: Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italy
Travel Story
We are both military and we live apart - me in germany and him in Italy. We married in March and this was our belated honeymoon. We wanted to meet somewhere and train to the beach so I flew into Venice and we stopped in Florence and then onto the Cinque Terre. We both love seafood and this was some of the best we’ve had. The people were amazing, the towns were beautiful and charming, and the water was christal clear!
Travel Tips
The Cinque Terre is the birthplace of pesto. We are at a restaurant called Via Venti in Monterosso where we had swordfish and a bowl of citrus pesto pasta. It was unbelievable how delicious it all was! We also loved the cones of fresh seafood from the day in Riomaggiore - fried right in front of you and presented with a lemon wedge. Delicious. Our favorite activity was laying on the sandy beach in Monterosso as well as the rocky beach in Riomaggiore. We also loved the hike from Monterosso to Vernazza.
