Travel Story
We travelled to the Netherlands to attend our friends' wedding. Since we were in the area, and my husband had never been before, I knew we would have to check out Amsterdam as I was sure he would love it. We met our best friends from Canada at such a cool penthouse Airbnb overlooking the canals. Being a photographer myself, capturing our experience in photos is very important to me. We hired a photographer while we were visiting Paris before we were married, 6 years ago, and we had photos captured of us there. We loved the experience. Usually travelling is a fairly hectic experience and we knew it was a great way to get up early, slow down a little, and spend some time cuddling with your love. Not to mention our travel photographs rarely capture the two of us together! It's a great way to experinece a new city!
Travel Tips
The number one must do thing in Amsterdam is to book a cruise with Pure Boats Amsterdam. I originally connected with them on Instagram, and we were so excited to meet our captain James. We cruised the canals of Amsterdam, with unlimited beverages, and trays of thoughtfully made tapas - we even managed to pop a few bottles of bubbly! The boat holds a maximum of 8 people, so it's a super intimate experience. Since Amsterdam was made based on its intricate canal system, we knew it was the best way to see the sites. Only spending one night in the city, we knew it was the best way to cover a lot of ground (or water!) The rest of our time we wander the picturesque streets and shared cocktails al fresco on various city patios.
