Flytographer Holiday Routes: Photographer Tips

We are so excited about our holiday routes and partnering with the Plaza Hotel to feature them! Thank you for being a huge part of creating some NYC “movie magic” for our customers.

We have two main routes (Central Park & Midtown) offered at both 60 and 90 minutes, and a 3-hour route that encompasses all the locations. Please see more about the route packages on our NYC Holiday Routes landing page:
www.flytographer.com/lost-in-nyc

It is important to stick closely to the route that we have outlined on the Shoot Scoop, as the customer specifically booked this route wanting photos at each stop. We want to give them both a fun photo shoot and a bit of a “movie magic” tour, so please include the talking points below while on the shoot. (And feel free to share any insider knowledge that you have while on the routes, either movie-related or just city-related!)

General fun facts about films in NYC

  • There have been countless feature film movies filmed in NYC. Many have been Christmas movies, but, of course, there are so many other hits: The Godfather; Saturday Night Fever; Devil Wears Prada; Breakfast at Tiffany's; Big; Godzilla; Black Swan; Hitch; Spider-Man; Serendipity; Ghost; Catch Me if You Can; 27 Dresses; Wall Street; The Avengers; Ghostbusters; and so many more!

  • Central Park has appeared in hundreds of films and almost anyone can recognize it in a movie. Bethesda Fountain has been used in many movies and shows as a classic NYC landmark.

  • Rockefeller Centre is not only home to many holiday movies such as “Elf” and “Home Alone 2,” but also famous TV shows such as Saturday Night Live.

  • The classic Christmas movie “Miracle On 34th Street” was filmed all over the streets of NYC and is on many people’s must-watch list of holiday films.
