What do you think about when you think of<\/span> New York City<\/span><\/a>? If the dazzling lights of Times Square, the hustle-bustle of the Grand Central Terminal, or the breathtaking skyline views of Manhattan from above come to mind, you\u2019re thinking of Midtown, NYC\u2019s most celebrated neighbourhood. Midtown is the city\u2019s beating heart with lots of things to see and do \u2013 from admiring contemporary artworks at the Museum of Modern Art to experiencing the glitzy magic of Broadway shows. Midtown is also packed with many foodie pockets such as the Hell\u2019s Kitchen district to experience. Technically, it all happens between 14th Street and<\/span> Central Park<\/span><\/a> South.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mile-high skyscrapers abound, but then you have the 843-acre patch of sprawling lawn, tree and water feature-filled green space, Central Park. 2. Greenwich Village<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

We are talking about one of New York City\u2019s most charming, hip, artsy, food-packed areas. The Village includes the neighbourhoods of the West Village and Meatpacking District. Washington Square Park is one of New York City\u2019s most recognizable parks with its famous arch and fountain \u2014 icons of the Village. Home to the Stonewall Inn, Greenwich Village is the birthplace of the gay rights movement and the most colourful of the New York City neighbourhoods! \ud83c\udf08<\/span><\/p>\n

West Village, or \u201cLittle Bohemia\u201d is an area inside Greenwich Village, on the west side of Manhattan. 3. SoHo<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

Nestled between Tribeca and Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan and only a stone\u2019s throw away from Little Italy, Chinatown, and the Bowery lies one of New York City\u2019s most fascinating neighbourhoods. South of Houston Street, or SoHo as it\u2019s known to the world, is an area in Lower Manhattan that is a shopper\u2019s paradise.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the 1970s and 80s, SoHo was an artsy neighbourhood; today, it maintains its creative allure, but it has also developed into a prime shopping district full of luxury boutiques and fine art galleries. 4. Brooklyn & DUMBO<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

When you think about New York City neighbourhoods, iconic structures dotting the famous Manhattan skyline probably come to mind: Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, Chrysler Building, and maybe even the Brooklyn Bridge. \ud83d\uddfd Crossing this famous bridge gets you to the heart of the borough of Brooklyn! Brooklyn Bridge Park covers 85 acres along the East River, so a summer stroll here in the sunshine, taking in the views of Manhattan is a must. From here you can watch the Staten Island Ferry pass by on the way to view the Statue of Liberty from the waterway (the best view of the iconic structure)!<\/span><\/p>\n

Wander the idyllic, residential streets of this established neighbourhood just south of Brooklyn Bridge. Brooklyn Heights features cobblestoned streets lined with posh brownstones making for a charming and much less crowded backdrop for photos.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Central Park<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

A magical respite in the middle of Manhattan where the noise of the city vanishes \u2014 Central Park is one of the most remarkable places in all of New York City and we are might just be saving the best for last.<\/span><\/p>\n

Central Park is massive, running from 59th Street to 110th Street (that\u2019s 2.5 miles\/4.0km tall)! The Park includes a zoo, castle, carousel, theatres, ice skating rinks, playgrounds, a swimming pool, sculptures, restaurants, lakes, ponds, a reservoir, gardens, meadows, lawns, sporting fields & courts, waterfalls, trails, wildlife, and somehow, a whole lot more. \ud83c\udf33<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to get lost, and impossible to take it in all at once. Central Park is a backyard to New Yorkers and a wonderland to visitors. The juxtaposition of this giant gem \ud83d\udc8e  of solitude right in the middle of one of the loudest, most chaotic cities in the world makes it a must-see.
