The drive from a chaotic airport arrival to our hotel probably showcased the worst this great city has to offer; road-side tent homes and hovels, traffic that defied a westerner\u2019s logic with cars six across in a three-lane road, noise, dirt, utter chaos.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05a736da1c_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05a84e932d_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05a9698830_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05aa82da5f_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05aba15cb0_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>While there is no question that this first impact sets the stage for an ongoing mental and visual image of this city, there is, in fact, a deeper reality to New Delhi. The coexistence of Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist faiths is ever present and the beautiful mosques and temples are an enduring testimony to this harmony. The deep-seated religious beliefs make for a very genteel approach to life \u2013 except when driving \u2013 and create a sense of kindness and courtesy that is truly endearing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05acbb6024_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05addd69bf_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05aef026a6_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/5ad05b002f9c2_New%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer.jpgNew%20Delhi%20vacation%20photographer\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The centuries of culture are fascinating and not to be missed. The 12th century <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delhitourism.gov.in\/delhitourism\/tourist_place\/qutab_minar.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Qutab Minar<\/a>, the magnificent <a href=\"http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/231\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Red Fort<\/a>, the rituals around <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delhitourism.gov.in\/delhitourism\/tourist_place\/india_gate.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India Gate<\/a> and the opulence of the <a href=\"http:\/\/akshardham.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Akshardham Temple<\/a> are must visits. It is clean, very modern and efficient. The massive contrast occurs when you exit at the Chawri Bazar Metro Station and walk into a world that is as jarring as it is fascinating.
