2. Mykonos Windmills<\/b><\/h2>\n

Towering over the turquoise blue sea with their blades spinning gently, the windmills of Mykonos have become iconic landmarks adding charm to the skyline of the Greek island.<\/span><\/p>\n

They were used from the 1500s to the 20th century to make wheat and barley. When electricity came to the island, they fell into disrepair \u2014 some of them even collapsed. Luckily, there were several initiatives to restore and maintain them. Today, Mykonos still has 16 windmills standing in a well-preserved state. \ud83d\udc4f <\/span><\/p>\n

The Windmills of Mykonos, also known as the Flour Mills of Mykonos, are the best-looking ones. They stand on a hilltop just outside the Old Port and Mykonos Town. 3. Platis Gialos Beach<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the Village of Platis Gialos, only a 15-minute drive from Mykonos Town, Platis Gialos Beach is one of the best beaches in Mykonos. The long stretch of golden sand is lined with high-end hotels, restaurants, and beach clubs, all facing the clear blue waters. The sea is shallow, and the beach is very organized, with several options for sporting activities, and sunbeds and umbrellas to rent. \u26f1<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Mykonos Town<\/b><\/h2>\n

Dreamlike Mykonos Town, aka Old Town, or simply Chora, is mainly composed of narrow pedestrian lanes that cut through whitewashed houses with blue doors, windows, and balconies. Add stunning bougainvillea and picturesque churches, and that\u2019s what a traditional Cycladic village looks like. \ud83d\ude0d<\/span><\/p>\n
