Today we\u2019re taking a dive in and around two of Colorado\u2019s best cities for travel, culture, and, most importantly, <\/span>photos: <\/span><\/i>Denver and Boulder! These twin cities are about 30 minutes away from one another, both located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We\u2019re here to round up the very best places to take photos in Denver and Boulder! \ud83c\udfd4<\/span><\/p>\n

Denver is the Colorado state capitol and is known as the Mile High City for good reason \u2014 Denver is exactly 1 mile (5280 ft, 1.609 m) above sea level. Accordingly, there are various markers around the city reminding you of that exact height! \ud83d\udccf <\/span><\/p>\n

Boulder strikes a mighty fine balance of being delightfully urban while also thriving within arms-reach of all that the Colorado wild outdoors has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both cities offer culture, history, and fun times for all in the form of amazing museums, galleries, cafes, and more. They\u2019re also not far from Rocky Mountain National Park, an incredible national treasure.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Denver Union Station<\/b><\/h2>\n

Photos near Denver\u2019s Union Station are a dream come true for architecture lovers. Located in the heart of downtown, Union Station is a modern train hall and stunning terminal building. \ud83d\ude89Thanks to a robust renovation in recent years, the space is now more than just a transportation hub \u2014 it also is home to some fabulous eateries (plus a farmers\u2019 market!), as well as the beautiful<\/span> Crawford Hotel<\/span><\/a>. 2. Officer\u2019s Gulch in Denver<\/b><\/h2>\n

When it comes to hiking near Denver, Officer\u2019s Gulch is a favourite trail forstunning Rocky Mountain views. At just over a mile, this easy loop trail is perfect to take in the sights and sounds of nature. \ud83e\udeba It\u2019s easily accessed off the highway and is awesome for the whole family (even dogs are welcome on-leash)! Officer\u2019s Gulch is a great balance for both fans of the outdoors and those who are just there to get some great photos of the Rockies and Colorado\u2019s breathtaking scenery!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

3. Red Rocks Trading Post in Denver<\/b><\/h2>\n

Just west of Denver is Red Rocks Trading Post. Although the name may be unassuming for those unfamiliar, Red Rocks Trading Post offers a little something for everyone! \ud83c\udfdf It\u2019s a gorgeous wedding venue, amphitheater, souvenir and memorabilia shop, home to the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, and last but not least, a great a 1.5 mile loop hiking trail! It should go without saying that the star sight of the hike are the red rocks. The mountain views and rock formations here are truly spectacular for everyone, let alone those with cameras in-tow. This is definitely one of our favourite places to take photos in Denver!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

4. Garden of the Gods<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Garden of the Gods is an official National Natural Landmark located in Colorado Springs, about 90 minutes outside of Denver. This spot is a must-see because of its unique and breathtaking geological features. Up close or from a distance, the Garden of the Gods is simply inspiring. You can see the wonders of the park by foot, bike, Segway, trolly, car (guided Jeep tours are also available), and even horse! You can hike, rock climb, or just pause to take in the magnificent surroundings in an hour, or spend a full day soaking it all up. \ud83e\uddd7\u200d\u2640\ufe0f The Garden of the Gods is a perfect Denver experience for all ages. 5. Estes Park<\/b><\/h2>\n

Only 20 minutes from downtown Denver, this historic gold rush town is sure to provide a background you will love, from mountains, trails and streams, and greenery, to old town charm. 8. Lost Gulch Overlook in Boulder<\/b><\/h2>\n

Lost Gulch Overlook is accessible by both trail and car \u2014 for those who want spectacular views with minimal effort, add this spot to your itinerary. \ud83c\udf04 Just outside of Boulder, about 45 minutes from Denver, be sure you don\u2019t skip Lost Gulch Overlook. If you\u2019re driving to the lookout, note that this destination is popular for bikers, so proceed with caution as there are many sharp and blind turns.
