We chose <a href=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/destinations\/rio-de-janeiro\">Rio de Janeiro, Brazil<\/a> as Jim is very active and Rio seemed to encompass what he loves:&nbsp;sun, surfing, sports, and water.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Our favorite memory from the trip is paragliding off the side of a huge cliff overlooking Rio. It was absolutely terrifying, but after we landed we were so glad we did it. Nothing like conquering fears on vacation!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We also spent New Years\u2019 Eve on <\/em><em>Copacabana Beach<\/em><em> with over a million other people, all wearing white. At midnight, we ran into the ocean to watch the fireworks from the sea. We just drank and talked for hours while listening to Brazilian music, including \u2018The Girl from Ipanema.\u2019&nbsp;It was just lovely, and I highly recommend an early evening there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A favela tour is a must. We walked through the largest favela in Rio, Rocinha, and visited an after-school program in Vila Canoas. The tour, operated by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.favelatour.com.br\/\">Favela Tour<\/a>,&nbsp;allowed us to experience a different part of Rio de Janeiro and provided us with insight into how millions of cariocas live and work in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, catch the sunset from Ipanema Beach at least once, or maybe two or three times!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/5ad00c9b9f6ef_Romantic%20Couple&#039;%20Vacation%20in%20Rio%20|%20Rio%20de%20Janeiro%20Vacation%20Photographer.jpgRomantic%20Couple&#039;%20Vacation%20in%20Rio%20|%20Rio%20de%20Janeiro%20Vacation%20Photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/5ad00c9ebf1af_Romantic%20Couple&#039;%20Vacation%20in%20Rio%20|%20Rio%20de%20Janeiro%20Vacation%20Photographer.jpgRomantic%20Couple&#039;%20Vacation%20in%20Rio%20|%20Rio%20de%20Janeiro%20Vacation%20Photographer\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/flyphotoprod.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/5ad00ca1ed3b5_Romantic%20Couple&#039;%20Vacation%20in%20Rio%20|%20Rio%20de%20Janeiro%20Vacation%20Photographer.jpgRomantic%20Couple&#039;%20Vacation%20in%20Rio%20|%20Rio%20de%20Janeiro%20Vacation%20Photographer\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFlytographer has come through yet again! We have used Flytographer three times, and the third is definitely the charm as we are obsessed with the photos.&nbsp;Of course there is a lot to work with in Rio de Janeiro, but our photographer, Carla, went above and beyond to capture some truly amazing shots.
