1. Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

The stunning Grand Canal is one of the most visited spots in Venice for a reason. Gondolas, water taxis and private boats criss-cross down the water in a lively dance, and we could spend hours watching this Venetian show with an Aperol spritz in hand. Listen for a gondolier serenading his passengers as they pass under the regal Rialto Bridge. As one of only four bridges crossing the Grand Canal, it\u2019s bustling all day long, so be sure to visit early in the day if you want photos without lots of people. For other views of the canal, wander down nearby streets and keep a keen eye out for hidden vantage points. You may just discover a new secret photo spot!<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Explore the maze of small canals<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Venice is more than just the Grand Canal. With <\/span>hundreds of bridges and waterways<\/span><\/a> snaking through the city, all it takes is a few twists and turns for the city to transform from a tourist hot-spot into a quiet corner. 3. St. Mark\u2019s Square & Doge\u2019s Palace<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

The heart of Venice beats loud and fast in the iconic St. Mark\u2019s Square. Its grandeur and beauty makes it a must-see for every visitor in the city, but this does mean it is guaranteed to be packed by mid-morning. If you can only stand to wake up early one day on your vacation, do it for this spot. Imagine the golden morning sun streaming through the spires of the basilica and the entire piazza all to yourself, save for a handful of fellow early-risers and a flock of pigeons. <\/span><\/p>\n

At home in St. Mark\u2019s Square, Doge\u2019s Palace deserves special recognition for its incredible gothic architecture and stunning array of pastel colours that would be right at home in a romantic fairy tale<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

4. Burano<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Although not technically in Venice, Burano is our number one recommendation for travellers looking for somewhere off the beaten path. Just a half-hour boat ride from Venice in the lagoon, it\u2019s the perfect spot for a day-trip to see the more local side of Italy. Emptier streets, brightly coloured fisherman\u2019s houses and stunning lace shops create the perfect photo backdrop, and it still holds on to the working island feel that is hard to find in Venice. Treat yourself to fresh seafood, snag an outdoor seat by the canal, and in this case, taking photos of your meal is definitely encouraged!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
