I graduated from The School of Visual Arts in 1997, and have been working commercially since shooting for the New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Time, Newsweek, Fortune, People, Telegraph UK and Los Angeles Magazine! I was born and raised in Long Island, NY and came to LA on a road trip after college. My most valuable and proud life experience: being a stepmom to twin girls, now age 18.
- I am passionate about all things visual. I am excited to see any great photo show. The last show I saw was Irving Penn's work last month in NY and have been inspired ever since.
- I have been to 46 of the US states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Next on my list is the Dakotas - Mount Rushmore is a must!
- My cats, Junebug and Pablo, are named after June Carter Cash and Pablo Picasso, respectively.
Favourite Place to Shoot
Any location that a customer feels connected to makes for the most successful shoot. I want people to be excited to see the photos we have just made and hang them on the wall for the next 20 years!

Customer Love for Alyson...
"I have been a fan of Flytographer for some time now, following the stream of amazing photos from far off destinations. Imagine how excited I was to have our own family photo shoot while in sunny California. It was surprisingly simple to meet up with our photographer, Alyson, at the busy Santa Monica pier. She made us feel instantly comfortable. Our little guy is very hard to pin down for a photos, but Alyson kept us on the move and captured the silly and special moments. We are hooked and look forward to trying this again." — The Scotts (see blog post here)
