Q: What types of shoots do you offer? 
A: We offer the three shoot lengths for vacation photos, as described below. Custom shoot lengths are also available on request

Q: Can I see the photographer’s portfolio before I book?
A: Of course! View all their portfolios on our Meet Our Photographers page. When you book, look for the question that asks about which style you prefer - you can tell us your top pick(s) for photographers at that time. 

Q: How long in advance should I book my shoot?
A: We suggest you book at least a week in advance, although we will attempt to accommodate last minute requests (but no promises). The ideal time frame to ensure you get YOUR preferred time/date is at least 4 weeks in advance.

Q: How many people can book a shoot together?
A: This is a time-based model; however, if you have more than 6 people there is a 60 minute booking minimum. For groups larger than 12, we recommend 90 minutes or 2 hours.

Q: What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
A: No problem! Just advise us by email, text or phone in advance of your shoot time:

More than 48 hours - no charge to cancel or reschedule your shoot.  
Less than 48 hours - $50 admin fee 
Less than 2 hours - no refund will be issued (barring an emergency!) 

Q: What if I am running late?
A: Please text or email your photographer if you are delayed. If you arrive late, keep in mind your photographer may have another shoot booked right after, and it's unlikely your shoot can be extended (although it's always possible, so please ask, but it is unlikely). We suggest arriving early and even having a drink nearby so you don't begin your experience in a "rushed" state of mind. Remember: traffic in big cities can be unpredictable!

Q: What happens if it’s raining?
A: We shoot rain or shine (hello, Vancouver!) and it’s no problem – just bring your favourite umbrella. However, if it’s raining sideways in a ridiculous* fashion, we can reschedule (*ridiculous weather clause). We are reasonable folks.

Q: Can I purchase extra time while in the middle of a shoot?
A: Of course! If you want to keep going, and your photographer is free, you can pay the additional charge afterwards online. Each additional 30 minute increment is $150 US.

Q: When will I see the photos?
A: We will send you a link to your online gallery within five business days. 

Q: Who chooses the final set of photos?
A: Your photographer will use their finely-honed editing skills to select the best shots that make it into your final set. That being said... if you thought there were shots you remember being taken that didn't make it into your set, let us know! We can reach out to your photographer and find out the deal on why it didn't make the cut.  

Q: Can I see all of the shots that the photographer took?
A: Unfortunately not. Not even if you ask really, really nicely... ;) We know that it can take dozens of snaps to get exactly that perfect version of a shot. It's a matter of professional practice for photographers that they don't share the whole set. But, as above, if you feel like something is missing we're happy to look into it for you! 

Q: What size are the photos?
A: We include a high resolution (3300 by 2200px) download link with along with the online, sharable photo gallery. If you have a specific size requirement for a special project, please let us know when you book! Please note that a small fee may apply for extra-special photo size requirements. 

Q: Do I own the photos?
A: You have the rights to use the photos for personal use (not commercial). Print them, share them and hopefully hang them on your wall. We would like to showcase your photos in our portfolio, but if you are shy, or prefer to keep them private, just let us know and we will NEVER post anything publicly. Your photographer retains the copyright.

Q: Can I book a Flytographer photographer for a commercial project?
A: For questions about commercial shoots, please contact us here with the details of your project. We will then send you more information about commercial pricing & licensing options. 

Q. Will you share my photos online without asking permission first? 
A: Absolutely not. We fully respect your choice on whether to share, or not share. Any photos you see on our site are from customers who have told us "in writing" that we can share their photos online. If you prefer to keep your photos 100% private, we simply lock them in the "Fly Vault" and they will NEVER be posted on our site or social media. Just let us know your preference when you fill in our feedback form after your shoot. 


Note: Shoots more than 20 miles outside city centers may be subject to a small travel fee.
